Aditya Deshpande

Currently a graduating senior at Cornell University double majoring in computer science and music, Aditya Deshpande studied piano with Professors Xak Bjerken and Ryan McCullough at Cornell. In the past, he has also studied with John and Nancy Weems, as well as Roxana Anklesaria-Doctor. Most recently, Aditya placed 1st at the Cornell Concerto Competition, performing Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Cornell Symphony Orchestra. Aditya has also placed 1st at the Steinway Junior Piano Competition, the Clear Lake Symphony Youth Concerto Competition in January 2018, the Symphony North of Houston Concerto Competition in December 2017, and the TMTA Piano Concerto Competition in 2017. He was a finalist at the Seattle International Piano Competition and has performed at the International Piano Competition in Ettlingen, Germany. He has previously won prizes at the International Keyboard Odyssiad in Colorado and Texas State University competitions. Aditya was a pianist for the Houston Young Artists’ Concert (HYAC) organization from 2015-2018, playing outreach concerts at Miller Outdoor Theater and senior communities across Houston. In 2011, he won first place at the MusiQuest national level piano competition in India. Aditya enjoys improvising at the keyboard, and has improvised live in concert on themes provided by audience members.
