Anthony Bracewell

Violinist and violist Anthony Bracewell possesses a multifaceted set of skills and enjoys a career as a soloist, chamber musician, fiddler of all genres, recording artist, producer, and teacher. 

He is a member of a number of musical ensembles and is currently the acting principal violist of Ithaca’s own Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, having previously acted as the principal second violinist. He also serves as concertmaster of the Manhattan Symphonie and the Geneva Light Opera Company. Recent performance highlights include touring as the guest violist of Ulysses Quartet, the guest second violinist of Quatuor Arod, and the guest first violinist of Tesla Quartet. 

An advocate of community outreach, Anthony is a member of the Hudson Valley based Chamber Music collective Jazz and Classics for Change, and is grateful to perform regularly in retirement communities and Camphill villages with members of Orchestra of Saint Luke’s and The Metropolitan Opera. 

Originally from Southern Ontario Canada, Anthony studied with Paul Kantor, Jaime Laredo, James Dunham and Paul Neubauer, and holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music as well as Rice University and The Juilliard School.
