Ariel Tushinsky

Cellist Ariel Tushinsky has studied with Profs. Chaim Taub and Zvi Harel in Israel, and Profs. Aldo Parisot (Yale University) and Bernard Greenhouse in the USA. Ariel is a founding member of the Jerusalem Piano Trio—first prize winners at the Osaka International Chamber Music competition (1999) and the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (1995), with whom he toured the world for more than 30 years, performing at some of the most prestigious music festivals such as Banff, Dubrovnik, Canberra, Villa Musica, Rolandseck, and Hanzebruich festivals, among many others, and recording CDs in Israel, Japan, Canada and Germany. As a soloist he performed with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of maestro Zubin Mehta, The Israel Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic, and the Chile Philharmonic orchestra. Ariel has served as chairman of the cello department of the “Garcia Fajer Foundation” in Spain, as well as a faculty member of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
