Owen Cummings

Owen Cummings

Owen Cummings loves nothing better than playing the cello. He is an active player in the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, which recently went on tour to Carnegie Hall. He also is in the Ithaca High School Chamber Orchestra and the Ithaca Talent Education Chamber Orchestra and Cello Choir and has played with the Cornell Symphony Orchestra, All-county/Area All-state Honors Orchestras, the Ithaca Community Orchestra, and in any other musical opportunities he can get in and around Ithaca. His favorite part of playing the cello is chamber music because it combines his two favorite things: making music and interacting with people. He is the cellist of the Harlow String Quartet and has gone to the Greenwood Chamber Music Camp in Cummington, Massachusetts for the past two summers for 5 weeks of hanging out with amazing people and playing wonderful music. He also plays piano for fun on the side and loves singing in the Ithaca High School Chorale. When not making music of some kind, Owen can probably be found rowing for the Cascadilla Boat Club on Cayuga Lake, going to too much, Starbucks procrastinating, or bowling/eating/hanging out with friends.
